Changing Taste in Photography

It was not until a short few decades ago that a “respectable” photographer was one who went to wars and documented the honorable task of defending a homeland or retaking the national honor. If not that, at least you would follow politicians around the city and country as they sought support from their constituents or gave their opinion on important national matters.

Years later came the business of following celebrities and the wealthy. A photographer would spend days, weeks, or months following such people for that one perfect picture that could bring the photographer fame and fortune.

But it was not until very recently that another form of photography became acceptable: wedding photography. Ever-so-slowly, employers and consumers have come to accept and appreciate that wedding photography is an art in itself, distinct from other forms of photography.

Korea is no exception in that area. Until the government allowed complete freedom of holding wedding ceremonies in major hotels, much of wedding photography in Korea was limited to taking Korean pre-wedding photoshoots in Korea wedding photo studio.

In order to offset some of the added costs, many photographers have teamed up with large wedding halls and luxury hotels because they can cater to more affluent parts of the society that can pay fees as high as $100,000. In return for signing up to these Korean wedding packages, customers would get the entire gamut of wedding services, including photography services.
