Nintendo to Roll Out Mobile Games By 2017

Nintendo is a Japanese company better known for producing the most classic video games the world has ever seen. The company has enjoyed a rich and illustrious past with franchises such as, Super Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokemon and many others. Each of these video games were made decades ago, and were made again and again because of their popularity. For instance, Nintendo’s star quarterback Mario, has appeared in nearly 200 games. The best part of being a Nintendo game character is, no matter how over-used the characters are, people still love them.

But, there was something missing, which has been felt even more so in the past decade or so, and that was seeing our favorite game characters in the palm of our hands, instead of the usual gaming pc amd vs intel . Luckily, the guys up at Nintendo have finally realized that, which is why Nintendo had recently announced of its partnership with the mobile and e-commerce company DeNA, which will bring some of Nintendo’s most loved characters to the smartphone screen.

According to reports, Nintendo has unveiled its plans of releasing no less than five of its famous video games to the smartphone platform by 2017, the first of which will be launched by the end of this year. This recent announcement comes as good news for not only fans of the Nintendo gaming franchises, but also for the company itself, which has been struggling with declining sales. The company has however, remained ferociously protective of its intellectual property and has preferred keeping its franchises and the characters exclusive to the company, and is own devices.

But, that didn’t help the company much, with other gaming platforms such as, Sony’s PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox taking a large chunk of the profits in mobile gaming apart from gaming PC AMD vs. Intel. Under pressure, the company has finally decided to put their investors at ease by starting to focus on the mobile platform. This means that Nintendo will now be working on games based on their intellectual property, but for mobile devices, which will also be including some of the company’s most iconic gaming characters.

So, Nintendo fans will finally be able to see some of their favorite game characters such as, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda on their smartphone screens. The new partnership with DeNA will certainly allow Nintendo to revive itself and more importantly compete for its much deserved share of the mobile gaming pie. And what better way to start off on its crusade than by partnering up with a company with an impressive resume. When it comes to the mobile gaming platform, DeNA’s roster includes some big names, such as, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Star Wars Galactic Defense and the popular, Marvel: War of Heroes.

Nintendo’s President and CEO, Satoru Iwata had recently announced that the company was indeed planning to release five of its famous video game franchises on the mobile platform, the first of which was going to be rolled out by the end of this year, with the rest following soon after. According to Iwata, all five of the Nintendo video games of the mobile platform will roll out by 2017. After which, the company will decide on the future of its gaming strategy.

According to insider reports, Hideki Konno, the longtime Mario Kart producer has been already placed in charge of the new mobile game development wing at Nintendo. Both DeNA and Nintendo are going to launch an online membership drive which will allow fans access to the content across various platforms, from Nintendo consoles and PC, to smartphones, the Wii U and the 3DS gaming systems.

Nintendo has expressed a keen interest in bringing back some of the company’s most loved game characters to the mobile gaming platform, which will also allow compatibility to other Nintendo devices as well, indicating that the company will also be introducing some new features that will allow gamers to sync their smartphones with other Nintendo gaming devices.
