Spas Show No Sign of Losing Popularity, Need for Products and Services
When a friend recently asked me to go to a Spa with her, all sorts of images conjured in my mind, most of them very pleasing! I imagined myself lying down on a message table, with some professional loosening up all the stressed muscles. Then I imagined myself going into a sauna, taking a cold shower and then jumping into an indoor pool.
Then, without even thinking, I started thinking about what I would be wearing while receiving all those services. I also, somewhat subconsciously, though about what she would be wearing. Trying not to appear cheeky about it, or expressing any interest in what she might be wearing, I asked what we apparel we should be carrying with us.
None was the answer, to my surprise. Everything you wear once you are inside, she informed me, has to be disposable material, for sanitary reasons. The facility will just provide them, she said, adding that she will need black disposable ladies brief, black bandeau disposable bra or black backless disposable bra, and black disposable black panty. For me, she suggested, I could either wear a black disposable mens brie for a disposable boxer.
Considering that there are at least 20,000 Spa locations just in the United States, not to mention other countries around the world, I wondered who makes all these disposable material. One company, my research showed, is the California-based Systems Group, Inc. whose products are available on the Internet at www.spaintimates.com. Founded in 1987, the company has pioneered the use of the most advanced non-woven technology in custom designed and patented products. The technology that replaced woven cotton in the operating room has been adopted by the Spa Intimates design team to meet the growing needs of today’s spa clients, according to the company website.
